How To find a funny, warm & engaging celebrant in Melbourne .

Looking for some laughter in your ceremony? For both you and your guests? You’re in the right place.

There’s always humour to be found in a couple’s story. I’ll go digging for it if I need to.

For me, the laughs are not in telling jokes. That’s really not me. I find humour in the anecdotes, the personality quirks and the differences in two different recollections of the same thing.

I often find a lot of lol fodder in first impressions, the first nerve wracking date and the proposal. I go deep on that stuff because it’s pure gold for storytelling.

Which is essentially what ¾ of a ceremony is.

Finding a celebrant who brings the laughs to your wedding ceremony involves

1. Recon and

2. Research

Ask around- your colleagues, cousins, mates, mate’s mates- they’ll have seen someone in action who was funny and warm.

Dig about and check videos on them in action. Most popular celebrants will have a swag of video montages online (their site, Instagram, Tik Tok or Youtube).

Meet them! See if their vibe (and humour) fits you.

One thing to be absolutely clear on however, for me me a brief of ‘fun’ or ‘funny’ does not mean the ceremony is loose or unprofessional. I’m judicious about what goes in, based upon liaising with the couples involved.

Poor taste or shameful content is always a no. Cheeky content is always a yes though.
