Wedding Celebrant Cost Melbourne:

What Are You Actually Paying For?

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room. Dollarbucks!

Planning a wedding in Melbourne isn't cheap, and trying to figure out why one celebrant costs $1000 while another costs $2,000+ is enough to make you want to elope.

Here is the unfiltered truth: you can absolutely find a cheaper celebrant.

But if you want a ceremony that doesn’t feel like a uni lecture, a race call or a pre school picture book reading, you’re in the right place.

I don't do boring generic ceremonies. I build custom, story-led, hilarious and warm celebrations of the couple.

The Full Nat Sproal Experience — $2,000

This is my flagship, completely personalised wedding package. It’s for couples who want their guests laughing, crying (the good kind), and asking, "How long have you been friends with Nat?" after the ceremony.

What’s Included:

  • The Legals: All statutory paperwork sorted, lodged, and registered with Births, Deaths and Marriages VIC. Zero stress for you.

  • 100% Bespoke Script: No templates. No cheesy love analogies. A ceremony written from scratch that actually feels like you.

  • Unlimited Consults: Over coffee, wine, or Zoom. I’m your sounding board throughout the whole process.

  • Vow Support: I’ll help you write vows that hit the perfect balance of emotion without sounding cringey.

  • The Gear: Use of my premium, professional PA system so your granny in the back row can hear every word.

  • The On-Day Performance: I turn up early, manage the crowd, calm your nerves, and deliver the ceremony flawlessly.

  • Post Wedding Advice: I word you up on changing your name if relevant.

Note: For weddings outside metro Melbourne or the Macedon Ranges (like the Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, or regional Victoria), a travel fee will apply to cover petrol and snacks.

“The 30-Minute Vibe Check: Your ceremony sets the entire tone for your wedding day. If it’s flat, boring, or generic, it takes your guests hours to recover at the reception. When you invest in a premium celebrant, you’re buying the guarantee that your wedding starts with an absolute bang. With over a decade of experience and 350+ five-star Google reviews, I know exactly how to read a room and handle any crowd.”

  • A: You aren't just paying for 30 minutes on the day. That $2,000 investment covers roughly 20 to 30 hours of behind-the-scenes work. It includes writing a completely custom script from scratch, handling legal compliance, hours of meetings and edits, professional audio gear, and over 10 years of crowd-management expertise. It’s the difference between a risk-free, incredible experience and a generic, awkward ceremony.

  • A: In Melbourne, celebrant fees range wildly. You’ll find registry-style or hobbyist celebrants from $750 - $1000. Mid-range celebrants usually sit between $1,000 - $1,500. Full-time, highly-experienced, premium professionals (the top 10-15% of the market) range from $1,800 to $3,000+.

  • A: If you don't want the big, personalised storytelling ceremony and just want to get legally hitched with zero fuss, I offer a 'Legals Only' service on weekdays for the couple and two witnesses. Get in touch for availability and pricing.

  • A: Peak Melbourne wedding dates (Saturdays in Spring and Autumn) usually book out 12 to 18 months in advance. However, with shorter booking windows becoming more common lately, it is always worth checking if I have your date free — even if your wedding is only 6 months away.

  • A: They can certainly speak or tell a story! But unless they are a registered Commonwealth Celebrant, they can't legally marry you. Some couples hire me to handle the legal framework and masterfully steer the ship, while weaving their friends or family into the ceremony for the best of both worlds. This option incurs a full fee, inclusive of the support and guidance offered to your friend on the lead up and on the day.

  • A: Yes, I sure do. Added to the ceremony fee will be travel and accomodation costs etc.

Get in touch for a quote.

Note, I cannot legally marry you outside of Australia but we can do the legal paperwork here followed by me conducting the ceremony overseas.
