Wedding Celebrant Cost Melbourne:
What Are You Actually Paying For?
Let’s talk about the elephant in the room. Dollarbucks!
Planning a wedding in Melbourne isn't cheap, and trying to figure out why one celebrant costs $1200 while another costs $2,000+ is enough to make you want to elope.
Here is the unfiltered truth: you can absolutely find a cheaper celebrant.
But the most talented, recommended and in demand celebrants cost more.
If you want a ceremony that doesn’t feel like a uni lecture, a race call or a pre school picture book reading, you’re in the right place.
I don't do boring generic ceremonies. I build custom, story-led, hilarious and warm celebrations of you.
I bring a decade of experience; hundreds and hundreds of weddings- a cache of incredible reviews by former couples and strong industry networks.
I have tight processes and Type A organisation skills so you go into your day calm and ready.

“Your ceremony sets the entire tone for your wedding day. If it’s flat, boring, or generic, that is the vibe that will carry into the reception.
When you invest in a premium celebrant, you’re buying the guarantee that your wedding starts with a bang”.

When you look at a celebrant's fee, it’s easy to think, "But you're only working for 30 minutes on the day!"
If only! For every 30-minute ceremony I perform, there are roughly 15 - 20 hours of work happening behind the scenes. Here is what goes into that $2,000 investment:
The Scriptwriting: I spend hours getting to know you, extracting the best stories, and writing a script from scratch that feels exactly like you.
The Legal Responsibility: I am legally responsible for ensuring your marriage is valid. One typo on a form can cause a massive headache, so I handle the legal heavy lifting with absolute precision.
Over the last decade, I’ve performed hundreds of weddings. I know how to handle crying babies, tech glitches, rowdy groomsmen, and erratic Melbourne weather without breaking a sweat.
-
Like anything, you pay for experience and personalisation. Newer celebrants or those who do volume-based, templated weddings will always charge less.
Premium celebrants who limit the number of weddings they take on so they can write bespoke, high-end stories charge more.

With the current market, booking windows have tightened up to about 6 - 8 months, but prime weekend dates still fill up fast.
If you've got your heart set on a specific Spring or Autumn Saturday, get in touch as soon as you have your venue locked in.
-
Yes, a non-refundable booking fee is required to lock in your date. This means I turn away every other enquiry for that specific date and time slot to focus entirely on you.
My fee is invoiced over four evenly spaced equal instalments.
-
Absolutely. It's one of my favourite parts of the job. I have a bulletproof vow-writing guide I share with all my couples, and I can review your drafts and offer advice and guidance.

I am only able to legally marry you in Australia. With international weddings, we do the legals here prior and I conduct the ceremony abroad.
