Soph and Simon’s wholesome little wedding in Abbotsford
Soph and Simon wanted a simple wedding that felt warm and relaxed. They married with the Yarra River as a backdrop at Abbotsford. Guests chatted with drinks pre ceremony then we got going. Soph walked the aisle with her bestie.
Their ceremony was lighthearted and funny but also full of feels. We played some epic tunes and threw eco confetti at them then guests wandered up to their cafe venue for drinks and a grazing table.
They focused hard on what mattered most to them- keeping it small and genuine and not overspending on things that didn’t matter to them.
Their wedding was so beautiful in its simplicity and they couldn’t wipe those grins off their faces!
Below I asked Soph to share her wedding planning tips:
1. What was the your vibe/ aesthetic of your day?
Relaxed and light-hearted! We wanted the day to be stress-free and enjoyable for us (not just our guests).
2. What was the best decision you made?
Choosing Nat as our marriage celebrant and Kyra as our photographer. They both just seemed to get us and our vibe.
Also, having drinks at our ceremony - guests loved having a drink before and during the ceremony.

3. Did anything not go to plan/ what would you do differently?
I wish I ironed Simon's suit jacket!

4. What was your fave part of the day?
The ceremony and hearing Nat tell our story.
5. In a few words- what advice would you give couples planning their wedding now?
If your budget doesn't stretch for decorations, flowers and party favours, it won't matter on the day. You're much better off investing your money on a good celebrant and photographer.
